Spiritual History

Our Spiritual Heritage…

is rooted in the New Testament with Jesus’ life, and “The Upper Room” experience of Pentecost in Acts, chapter 2. The Lutheran Reformation, the Wesleyan Revival and The Holiness Movement begun by John Wesley in the 1700’s, and The Pentecostal Movement begun at the turn of the 20th century has molded our Christian Faith.

The International Pentecostal Holiness Church incorporated the theology of the Pentecostal movement into it’s Articles of Faith in 1908.

“We believe the Pentecostal baptism of the Holy Ghost and fire is obtainable by a definite act of appropriating faith on the part of the fully cleansed believer, and the initial evidence of the reception of this experience is speaking with other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance (Luke 11:13; Acts 1:5; 2:1-4; 8:17; 10:44-46; 19:6).”

We believe in the Trinity, the deity of Christ, His virgin birth, His second coming, divine healing, and future rewards and punishments for all at the final judgement of God.
